Well, obviously. But you sound like White people in the comments who think every discussion about race is about Black people trying to make White people feel guilty. And the fact that White people in Switzerland like your hair does not mean Black women here in the United States don't struggle with White-centric standards of beauty when it comes to their hair (please check out the links in my other response). Of course, they should not let it discourage them from wearing whatever styles they want to wear (and frankly, at the end of the day, I don’t really give a damn what White people do with their hair), but this is still a conversation worth having, one that you can sit out if you want to. And by the way, I lived abroad for 13 years — in South America, Australia, Asia, Africa, and Europe — and it's a mistake to conflate our experiences as Black people abroad with the experiences of Black people in the US.
