To the Love of My Life, on Facebook

We interrupt this magic moment for a social media post.

It was 10 years ago today that I first saw you. I couldn’t believe it when our eyes met from across the pool at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai. I was living my best life, and you were stretched out on a chaise lounge, looking good enough to eat. A few minutes later, we were taking selfies together, and I was thinking about when to change my relationship status. I posted tons of pictures from that trip, so everyone already knows what I’m talking about.

Happy anniversary, baby. You are the best husband in the world, an amazing dog dad, and such a wonderful father to our two boys. I love the gorgeously curated life we’ve built together and the amazing trips we take all over the world, where I can gaze at all the sights through my camera lens and share all the beautiful scenery with my thousands of fans — I mean, friends — on Facebook.

They’ve seen pretty much every corner of our dream house in the pics I’ve posted over the years, so they know the glamorous splendor we bask in every day. I’ve done a thorough job of documenting the entire lives of our sons practically from the moment they were born, so everybody knows what wonderful, caring, and handsome young men they are turning out to be. We really should pat ourselves on the back for doing such a good job with them.

I’m so blessed and grateful for this wonderful life we have together and for the opportunity to empower and inspire people by showing them that they can achieve their goals if they just believe in themselves and trust in God. This is all because of Him. I thank the Lord every day for bringing you to me.

I am beyond lucky to have you in my life. You are the perfect person for me. I don’t think there are two people more in tune with each other than us.

I know you’re not on Facebook, so you might never read this. That’s OK. I can just as easily say it to your face and leave it at that, but then nobody else will get to witness my public display of affection for you, turn green with envy, and start using our bliss as a barometer to judge their own lives.

I want all my Facebook friends — the ones who already know how happy we are and the ones I’ll never meet —…
