Thanks for the shout-outs! I'm glad you included Marvin's cover of Yesterday. I never particularly liked the song until I heard Marvin sing it. Have you listened to Kate's version of Marvin's Sexual Healing, which was the B-side of King of the Mountain? It's not necessarily essential, but it's a good version of a song I would have considered untouchable. And if you haven't heard it, you should also check out Billy Paul's take on Dylan's Don't Think Twice, It's Alright.
I love it when a remake completely overhauls a familiar song in a way that feels inspired and well thought out (Annie Lennox doing The Clash's Train in Vain or Aretha's Bridge Over Troubled Water) and isn't just changing it for the sake of changing it (Reba McEntire completely missing the musical point of The Everly Brothers' Cathy's Clown).
