Congratulations on being an ace parent. You are but one (presumably) white person, though. Considering that comedy writers often base their work on their lives, and white comedy tends to be created by white writers and black comedy tends to be created by black writers, I think the idea in my headline is a perfectly valid one. The headline is not “Real-Life White Parents Are Not As Tough As Real-Life Black Parents,” so there is no delusion going on, just a reasonable idea sparked by the marked difference in comedy created by two distinct cultures.
